Standard Procedures
Our standard procedures are common UCSF animal procedures that labs can incorporate directly into an IACUC protocol. These standard procedures are already IACUC approved, so all you have to do is check a box, and RIO will add the procedure to your protocol.
Helpful hints when using standard procedures:
- Make sure you read the procedure carefully before checking the box! If your lab wants to modify the procedure, that’s fine – but you’ll need to describe this in the protocol.
- In the Procedures section of the protocol, don’t forget to describe how the standard procedure(s) fit in with the overall experimental timeline. For example, if you’ve checked a blood collection standard procedure, remember to mention at what timepoint(s) you will collect blood.
