Step 3: In-Person Training

Hands-On Species-specific training is required for all personnel that will be in direct contact with animals. Register online at UC Learning Center.

The links below will only work after you log in to UC Learning Center (https://training.ucsf.edu/). Log in with your UCSF MyAccess username and password. You can also find the specific learning activity by typing keywords in the learning search box (i.e. Mouse Basic). When you find the correct course select the "REGISTER" button to schedule a training.

ATTENTION - NEW UPDATES: Due to higher volume of students and decreased IACUP staffing, there may be up to a 6 week wait for the next available hands-on training course. Based upon your availability, please “Register” for the next available course. In-person courses are offered at Parnassus and Mission Bay. You do NOT need to complete the course at the same campus as your laboratory. If all courses are full, you may join a waitlist for an existing course. Rodent users with less than one year hands-on experience:

• Mouse Basic Handling
• Rat Basic Handling

Rodent users with greater than one year experience:

• Mouse Euthanasia Training
• Rat Euthanasia Training
