Adoptive Lymphocyte Transfer in Mice
IACUC Standard Procedure

Description of Procedure
Adoptive Transfer Protocol: A donor mouse is euthanized by UCSF Euthanasia Policy, and lymphoid cells from donor mice are aseptically prepared as a single cell suspension and adjusted to an appropriate final volume with sterile saline. Recipient mice are injected via IV tail or retro-orbital vein within the maximum volume referenced in the standard procedure, UCSF Tail Vein Injection, UCSF Retro-Orbital Injection. If anesthetized, mice will be monitored continuously until ambulatory.
Mice will be evaluated for general appearance, ability to move normally around the cage and reach food and water, ability to eat and drink, grooming habits, skin color, and lethargy.
Agents
If injection is performed via the retro-orbital vein, anesthetics are required. All agents administered should be included in the “Agents” section of the RIO IACUC protocol.
Adverse Effects
Potential adverse effects include trauma to the eye (if performing retro-orbital injection) and graft vs. host disease. Adverse effects should be listed in the “Adverse Effects” section of the RIO IACUC protocol.
